Mrs. Singh-Mergeche joined the firm as a partner in January 2023.  She provides the firm’s public-school clients with legal advice and representation on educational matters in order to facilitate the implementation of educational service in various areas of law including special education and student discipline.  She represents school districts in proceedings before administrative agencies, state and federal courts and has served as an impartial investigator regarding claims of discrimination and harassment.

Ms. Singh-Mergeche’s legal career began as prosecutor in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, Domestic Violence Unit. Her entrance in the field of special education law began as a litigator for the New York City Department of Education General Counsel’s Special Education Unit. During her tenure she litigated numerous impartial hearings and provided legal support and advisory opinions regarding litigation strategy and educational policies to special education practitioners and district representatives. Subsequently, she transitioned to boutique law firm, representing families of children with special needs in order to secure services or reimbursement for unilateral placements.

Ms. Singh-Mergeche is a member of the New York State Bar Association and admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
