While health insurance costs have abated to some extent recently, this issue remains a constant at the bargaining table and impacts the budget regarding the legacy costs of retiree health insurance expenses as well. The trend shows a steady progression in the employee health insurance premium share. An emerging issue at the bargaining is the cost of Medicare Reimbursement that could have an effect not only upon current employees in their retirement, but also upon those already retired who do not have fixed lifetime premium contribution assurances from their school districts.
