Special Presentations
Our partners and associates appear as lecturers for the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) more frequently than any other attorneys in the state. We also lecture frequently for the New York State Bar Association, New York State Association of School Attorneys, Mid-Hudson School Study Council and the American Arbitration Association. For the past 24 years, David S. Shaw has instructed graduate students at State University of New York at New Paltz, in its School of Education, in the areas of Education Law, School Finance Law and Labor Relations and Personnel.
During the last several years, Mr. Shaw presented for NYSSBA on the subjects of IDEA Reauthorization 2004, Bullying and Hazing, No Child Left Behind, the Legal Responsibilities of the Board and Superintendent with regard to Fiscal Matters, School Safety and Student Rights, Board Legal Rights and Responsibilities, and Negotiations. Mr. Lambert, Mr. Silveira and Mrs. Rusk present for NYSSBA on special education issues.
